Dyson Heppell’s outstanding performance against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday has been rewarded, with the young gun picking up full votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award.
Bomber Thompson and Justin Leppitsch both agreed the young-gun’s 36 possession game was a standout performance awarding him the maximum ten votes.
Captain Jobe Watson’s game also did not go unnoticed as he picked up eight votes.
Heppell’s game high 36 possessions, including 14 kicks, 22 handballs and 6 tackles, sees the young star continue his stellar start to the season, where he is leading the team for disposals averaging close to 30 a game.
