Paul Chapman has been offered a one-match ban from the Match Review Panel for striking Brisbane Lions midfielder Dayne Zorko.
The incident was assessed as a level two striking offence and due to carry-over demerit points from a previous offence; his one-match sanction must remain at one match even with an early plea.
The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points).
Chapman has an existing bad record of 68.75 demerit points within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 193.75 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 145.31 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
Chapman was cleared of contact with Jack Redden from the second quarter of Saturday’s match with the forced deemed to be below that required to constitute a reportable offence.
