Bomber coach Kevin Sheedy believes Damian Cupido is primed to provide Geelong with a few headaches come Saturday night’s semi-final. Cupido started well against Melbourne last weekend and the Essendon coach thinks with that game under his belt, he might just be ready to produce something significant this weekend.

""Cupido has played a lot of football in the VFL side this year coming back off an injury. He is getting fitter each week. Last year against Geelong he kicked five goals so he will take a lot of minding – there is no doubt about that,"" Sheedy said prior to training this afternoon.

""Cupido s a smart player and he is learning to play up the field a bit more. In the VFL side we asked Peter Banfield to play him up the field a bit more. He might even play on a wing / half forward line this week because he has that fitness now.

""Even last week he had the ball up in the midfield but he just had to use it a bit better because he is a thumping kick. He is a really long kick, when he gets the ball in the midfield nobody else should touch it except an Essendon forward.""

Sheedy said this weekend’s game would be very different to that when the sides last met in Round nine. Each side will have up to five new faces and some match ups seem certain to change as well.

""Kent Kingsley played very well that day and they had a lot of space in their forward line so we will have to keep an eye on that. When I look back on that game I had Adam Ramanauskas on (Paul) Chapman and I think he kicked three in the first quarter. I can assure you my eyes haven’t missed much that is Geelong in the last couple of days – I’ve been watching all the videos,"" Sheedy said

""Matthew Allan is probably our best ruckman so he will play against King. It was great to see him get through the game last week – it will do him the world of good confidence wise. We will probably play David Hille up forward a bit more.""

Sheedy was critical of his side’s use of the ball in a woeful third quarter performance last week, saying another such lapse would see the club throw away another finals’ opportunity.

""Our third quarter when they (Melbourne) kicked seven goals was the result of poor kicking into our forward line. We had three players miss goals they should have kicked – we should not have been behind at three quarter time. Even Lloydy missed a goal from about 25m out. Our disposal into the forward line in the third quarter hurt us and we have to be better than that,"" he said

""We failed just like Port Adelaide did last year. We were there with a chance and we didn’t get anywhere. We need to grab it this year.""

Sheedy rated McPhee a 70-30 chance of playing and said the retiring Joe Misiti was in the mix.

""He trained well on Monday night and he will do some more running tonight and we will have another look at him later in the week. I hope he will play,"" he said.

""Joe Misiti is a good chance. He will be picked on the amount of the ball he has got during the year. His performances have been solid so he will be strongly considered. His experience won’t go against him.""
