2013 Crichton Medalist Brendon Goddard continued his great performances in 2014.
He acted as stand in captain during Jobe Watson’s absence with a hip injury, and his leadership shined through as he demonstrated exactly why he was the 2013 Crichton Medal winner.
Goddard was used in a variety of roles, and whether he was playing an attacking or defensive role his class and experience proved too good for his opponents and was crucial to the team’s success.
His seasoned talent was on display in the Round 22 clash against the Gold Coast Suns. Goddard proved to be the clutch player, tearing up the opposition with 28 disposals, three tackles, three goals and one of the marks of the year.
In just 20 games for the season, Goddard averaged 23.1 disposals at 76.5%, had 73 tackles and booted 17 goals.
A truly impressive season, the veteran was consistently in our best. Can he take home the Crichton Medal two years in a row?
