Essendon Football Club is proud to announce the appointment of Madeline Keryk as the club’s inaugural female football ambassador.
In partnership with AFL Victoria, the Club has undertaken a process to identify a young female footballer who represents the values and direction that Essendon is taking with its approach to attracting more females to the game as well as club interaction.
An Essendon resident and former Aberfeldie footballer, Maddy is recognised as one of the country’s best female footballers, having represented and captained Victoria on multiple occasions.
From 2011-2013, Maddy was a key member of the AFL Victoria Youth Girls Academy, a program that the Essendon Football Club is proud to support and part fund.
“Maddy’s role will further bolster Essendon’s significant community team, helping to promote and deliver programs that encourage female participation in football and the Essendon Football Club,” Cameron Britt, Head of Community at Essendon Football Club said.
“A person of Maddy’s standing in football and the local community broadly is a great acquisition for Essendon.”
