Big man Tom Bellchambers will bolster Essendon’s line up for Friday night’s all-important clash against Sydney at the SCG.

The Bombers have made just one change to their team with Michael Hibberd out with a hamstring injury replaced by Bellchambers.

Essendon coach Mark Thompson said Bellchambers was a welcome addition to the side.

“Bringing Tom into the team will make sure we don’t have to play Hooker in the ruck this week,” Thompson said.

“He will play in the ruck and up forward giving Jake Carlisle a hand to make sure they don’t double team him.”

“Then when he plays in the ruck he will allow Paddy to go forward which we really want to have a look at.”
