IMPENDING MILESTONES
 
All-time career goalkickers – Matthew Lloyd, Essendon. Matthew has kicked 912 goals since his debut in 1995. He needs three goals to draw level with Leigh Matthews, who currently sits at seventh position in the all-time history of the game. The leading seven players in history are Tony Lockett (1360 goals), Gordon Coventry (1299 goals), Jason Dunstall (1254 goals), Doug Wade (1057 goals), Gary Ablett (1030 goals), Jack Titus (970 goals) and Leigh Matthews (915 goals).
600 games coached – Michael Malthouse. Michael is due to coach his 600th career game this week, having coached Footscray for 135 matches, West Coast for 243 matches and Collingwood for 221 matches. He is due to become the third coach in history to reach this mark, joining Jock McHale (714 games all with Collingwood) and Kevin Sheedy (635 games all with Essendon).
300 games – Adam Simpson, North Melbourne. Adam is due to become the third North Melbourne player after Glenn Archer (311 games) and Wayne Schimmelbusch (306 games) and the 61st player in the history of the game to reach 300 games. A full list of 300 game players can be found on page 558 of the AFL 2009 Season Guide, with the exception of Dustin Fletcher (Essendon), Jason Akermanis (Western Bulldogs) and Tyson Edwards (Adelaide), who reached the milestone earlier this season.
250 games – Simon Goodwin, Adelaide. Simon is due to become the seventh player in the history of the club to reach 250 games, joining Andrew McLeod (315 games), Mark Ricciuto (312 games), Ben Hart (311 games), Tyson Edwards (300 games), Nigel Smart (278 games) and Mark Bickley (272 games).
100 games – Rick Ladson, Hawthorn
100 games – Matt Maguire, St Kilda
100 consecutive games – Shane Tuck, Richmond. Shane is due to play his 100th consecutive game, dating back to round one 2005. His streak is due to become only the fifth current active streak of 100 games or more, joining Brett Kirk (165 games since round 15, 2002), Kane Cornes (138 games since round 17, 2003), Tarkyn Lockyer (118 games since round 10, 2004) and Darren Jolly (102 games since round eight, 2005).
50 games – Richard Douglas, Adelaide
50 games – Sam Gilbert, St Kilda
Most Consecutive Wins Outside Home State – Geelong Cats. The Geelong Cats have won their last 11 consecutive matches played outside of Victoria, dating back to a 56 point win over Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium in May 2007, that began this current streak. This equals the most consecutive matches won by any team outside its home state in the history of the national competition by North Melbourne, extending between April 24, 1999 and July 8, 2000. AFL LONG-TERM INJURY LIST
 
The AFL wishes to advise the following changes have been made to club lists, under the provision of the AFL injury list rules.
 
Fremantle – Placed Ryan Crowley on the long-term injury list, and upgraded Clancee Pearce from the rookie list as his replacement.
Port Adelaide – Reinstated Justin Westhoff to the senior list, after he had been on the long-term injury list.
 
2009 NAB AFL Under 18s Championships
 
The 2009 NAB AFL Under Championships are now underway. Under the format that will apply this year, to allow for a greater exposure of elite young players, all teams will play five matches. Teams in Division One will play all three other Division One sides and two sides from Division Two. Teams in Division Two will play all three other Division Two sides and two sides from Division One.
