Essendon Football Club is pleased to announce Fujitsu General Australia has signed on as the co-major partner of the Bomber’s inaugural VFLW side.
The new three year partnership will see Fujitsu General Australia partner with the Bombers VFLW side until the end of season 2020.
The announcement coincides with the VFLW squad’s first official training session at the Club’s Tullamarine headquarters this evening.
General Manager - Commercial Operations, Brenton Humphreys, said the partnership was a significant vote of confidence in the Club’s women’s football program.
“We are extremely proud to have Fujitsu General Australia sign on as an official co-major partner for our VFL Women’s team for the next three seasons,” Humphreys said.
“The partnership further strengthens our ties with Fujitsu General Australia, and will help us in growing and developing clear pathways for girls and women to achieve their dreams of playing AFLW.
“Fielding a women’s VFL team is a significant step forward for our Club, we are excited to see the team gel over the summer, and can’t wait to see them line-up for their opening game of the 2018 season.”
Fujitsu General Australia has been a proud co-major partner of the senior men’s team since 2013, and this year became the naming rights partner of the Grand Final Comedy Debate and Football Woman of the Year Award, reinforcing their commitment to growing women’s football.
General Manager Sales & Marketing, Dave Smith, said the partnership aligned with the organisation’s vision.
“Fujitsu General Australia is delighted to continue its support for the Essendon Football Club as co-major partner of the inaugural Essendon VFLW team,” Smith said.
“This partnership is an initial three year term, and supports the business’ broader commitment to enabling pathways for sport to be enjoyed by everyone.
“Fujitsu General Australia is an advocate for inclusiveness and diversity in the work place, and embraces the opportunity to also demonstrate this in the world of sport.
“We look forward to being part of the 2018 VFLW journey.”
The Bomber’s VFLW team will kick start their 2018 campaign in May.
