The AFL Commission has amended the order of selection in the 2012 NAB AFL National Draft following a decision by the Adelaide Crows Football Club to relinquish its first two picks in the National Draft to be held Thursday night on the Gold Coast.
Essendon will now enter the draft with selections 10, 34, 51, 53, 73, 88, 101, 106.
The Bombers have already committed to selecting Father/Son recruit Joe Daniher with their first round selection and promoting rookie Mark Baguley to the senior list with pick 106.
Adelaide informed the AFL of its decision yesterday and the AFL Commission accepted the relinquishment by the Club of draft picks 20 (round one) and 54 (round 3), being the first two picks previously assigned to the Club this year.
The AFL Commission determined to amend the order of selection for the 2012 Draft accordingly and assign Adelaide FC one additional selection in each of Rounds 4 and 5 of the Draft in accordance with the normal operation of the AFL Player Rules concerning the order of Draft selections.
