1. Michael Hibberd:
Michael Hibberd continued his development in defence this season. The dashing defender spent the majority of the year running off the backline, using his damaging left foot and exploits in the air to torment the opposition. Courageous in the contest, the 24-year-old averaged 22 touches and four rebounds a game. His best effort came in round 18 against the Western Bulldogs when he collected 29 touches. Hibberd played a more flexible role this season, at times moving into the midfield in the absence of more senior figures. Hibberd has become an integral member of the Bombers' backline and will continue to develop ahead of his sixth season.
2. Tom Bellchambers:
After seven years working as the second tall, big man Tom Bellchambers took on the number one ruck position this season. The 26-year-old started the year strongly with 31 hitouts against the Sydney Swans, then backed it up with 27 hitouts and a goal in the round two win against the Hawks. Unfortunately, Bellchambers suffered an injury in round 10 which ended his 2015 campaign. The Tasmanian has made strong progress in his recovery and he should be nearing full fitness for the start of the pre-season. After signing a fresh two year deal, the club is hopeful that Bellchambers will assert his dominance on the competition in the coming years.
3.Paul Chapman:
Paul Chapman called it a day on a stellar career at the end of the 2015 season. Hampered by injury, Chapman spent most of his second year at the club mentoring and guiding his younger teammates. The veteran forward kicked off the year as a crucial player in the team's win over Hawthorn. Providing his usual spark, the 33-year-old gathered 16 touches, laid five tackles and kicked two goals. After a groin injury sidelined him in round five, Chapman returned with a strong performance against the Brisbane Lions gathering 17 touches, taking six marks and kicking a goal. However, the three time premiership player struggled to regain fitness and was sidelined from round 11. Chapman would 'Don the Sash' for one last time against Richmond in round 22. Fittingly, as the final siren sounded on an incredible career, it was Chapman holding the ball holding the ball, running towards goal for one last charge.
4. Jobe Watson:
Jobe Watson was another of our players restricted by injury in 2015 only playing 12 games for the season. However, true to his determination, the captain willed himself into several strong performances. Watson averaged 24 disposals a game, gathering 30 plus disposals on several occasions. The skipper had his best performance against Carlton in round three gathering 36 touches, eight marks, five tackles and a goal as the Bombers stormed home for a win. He underwent surgery after the round 14 loss to St.Kilda and would not play again this year. Now nine weeks post surgery, the 30-year-old is recovering well and is on track to return to the full pre-season training.
