Carlisle’s purple patch
After struggling with a move to the forward line to start the season, exciting key position prospect Jake Carlisle’s fortunes turned against Collingwood in round 17.
The 198cm big man had kicked just 13 goals from his first ten matches of the season, struggling with the move from defence to attack.
A spectacular aerial display against the Magpies kick started a stellar end to the season for Carlisle.
He took a remarkable 19 marks, the most in a game in the club’s history to go along with a career high bag of four goals.
His goal kicking record did not last long with another incredible performance just seven days later against the Western Bulldogs to help his side to a thrilling win.
Carlisle kicked a career-high eight goals in the win over the Bulldogs, taking 12 marks, including 10 inside 50 – the highest ever recorded by Champion Data.
Across the two week purple patch the key forward finished with 12 goals and 31 marks to show the potential he has in attack in the future.
