Bellchambers tops out
Construction on Essendon’s new High Performance Centre has reached another milestone with ruck man Tom Bellchambers taking part in the topping out ceremony as the building nears completion.
Bellchambers was responsible for screwing the final bolt into the framework of the club’s new facility in Tullamarine.
“It is definitely not my building skills that have got me this job, I think it is the luxury of being one of the tallest players in the team, I get to come out here and do the fun stuff,” Bellchambers said.
“It is looking great, it is almost finished and we are really looking forward to getting out here.”
The two ovals are ready for use at the new facility with the team training on the MCG sized oval since the start of the year.
The roof has been built on the indoor training hall while the framework for the administration and gymnasium facilities are almost complete.
The club’s current Flight Plan tally stands at $827,556 with fans encouraged to support the move through making a donation.
