Essendon will enter Wednesday’s Rookie Draft with selections 9 and 26.

Just five clubs will take part in the pre-season draft; GWS, Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton and Sydney all have room on their senior list allowing them to use a selection in the Pre-Season Draft.

Each club is permitted to have up to 40 senior listed players with the Giants able to have between 44 and 50 players on its senior list in 2014 under player concession rules.

Following the Pre-Season Draft at 11am, the Bombers will take part in the Rookie Draft.

Each selection a club makes in the Pre-Season Draft means it has one fewer selection in the Rookie Draft.

Clubs must have a minimum of 38 players on the primary list with a maximum of 40 players.

Rookie list selections can then total between four and six with the number dependent on the primary list number to make a total list number of 44.

Essendon will select two more rookies to have a total of four rookie listed players and 40 primary listed players.
