The AFL wishes to advise Essendon's Round 17 match against GWS Giants has been altered ahead of the 2013 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

GWS Giants v Essendon at Skoda Stadium, Saturday 20 July, will now be played as a day game and commence at 2.10pm local time, with the match to be produced by FOX FOOTY. 

AFL General Manager Broadcasting, Scheduling and Legal Affairs Simon Lethlean said the changes had been made so that the GWS Giants / Essendon match at Skoda Stadium did not clash with a scheduled game for Manchester United on the same night at ANZ Stadium in the Sydney Olympic Sporting Precinct.

“The AFL seeks to support major events where possible, and to avoid clashes with any AFL matches, and it’s in the best interests of all sports fans for these changes to be made for round 17 next season with as much notice as we can provide.”
