Passionate Essendon supporter and the BomberLand fan in the outer Darren Snowdon is disappointed that the season is over but is extremely proud of the team’s efforts this season. “And just like that, it's all over! The Essendon 'convoy' hit a majorroadblock in South Australia last Saturday night and not even BurtReynolds (no relation to Dick or Joel) at his wise-cracking,fast-talking best was going to break through. The Bombers have improveddramatically during the season however when it came to the challenge ofplaying the first-placed side in the competition away from home in asudden-death final, we were unable to rise to the occasion.” Click here to read Snowdon's full column.
The Essendon players will undergo standard medical assessments later this week before heading on a two-month break. According to club physiotherapist Bruce Connor the assessments are routine and it is an opportunity for the medical staff to assess any niggles the players may have been carrying over the course of the season. ""We encourage the players to let us know if any areas are a bit sore or don’t feel quite right,"" Connor said.
