In his own words
“It was unreal out there, the boys all played for each other and to get the win in the end was brilliant. It was unbelievable. It was like a dream come true to be playing with Fletch and all of these legends I was just pinching myself. I am pretty relieved to have the first one under my belt but durng the week it was just excitement with a mix of excitement and nerves.” Patrick Ambrose – Post match 21st March.
Skippy’s take
“Patty had a fantastic first year, playing pretty much all of the season at AFL level. To come in and have an impact as a rookie list player and play in round one was fantastic. It was all due to his attitude and work ethic over pre-season, he has a great willingness to improve and learn. He still needs to work on the offensive side of his game in terms of his kicking and marking but defensively he was very good. We look forward to another big pre-season from Patty to add some more goals and marks to his game to take him to the next level.” Hayden Skipworth – VFL and Development Coach
