Essendon key position player Michael Hurley has finished with two votes at this year's NAB AFL Rising Star awards at Crown Palladium.
 
Jake Melksham also secured a Rising Star nomination this season but did not poll in the final votes.
 
The Ron Evans Medal was awarded to Dan Hannebery from the Sydney Swans who finished a clear winner with 45 votes.
 
 
The NAB AFL Rising Star was voted by the All-Australian selection panel of Andrew Demetriou, Adrian Anderson, Mark Ricciuto, Kevin Bartlett, James Hird, Gerard Healy, Glen Jakovich, Robert Walls and Kevin Sheehan (Rising Star selector only).
