Jason Winderlich has been named to return to Essendon’s team as one of five inclusions to an extended squad to do battle with West Coast at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Winderlich has missed the last three-week’s with soreness but has been named to return on a wing and is set to provide important run with the loss of Courtenay Dempsey to a hamstring injury.

Also out of the side goes Cory Dell’Olio who has been dropped after two matches at senior level since being elevated from the rookie list.

Alwyn Davey and Tayte Pears return and have been named in the starting 18 meaning they will face the Eagles on Sunday.

Ben Howlett and David Hille have both been rewarded for impressive form in the VFL last weekend by being named on an extended interchange bench.

The extended squad will be cut to a final 22 on Friday afternoon at 5pm.
