This is what some of the fans had to say about Darcy Daniher’s 2008 season:

Tim O'Meagher - Up and coming. Hopefully 2009 will see him blood himself into the seniors.

Jan Di Pietro – First-year player who struggled with injuries, but I'm sure we will see more of him next year. Excellent prospect.

John Poke - Darcy shows plenty to indicate that he will be a great defender in the future. It will be great to see him develop in 2009.

David Street - Darcy shows talent. Needs to build up his strength. There is a spot for him in the team.

Danielle Gibbs - Showed great promise at the start of the year until injuring his shoulder.

Alex Price - Struggled in his senior appearances (except for the brilliant goal he kicked on debut that was disallowed) but showed a lot for Bendigo. Would like to see him tried more in defence for Bendigo in 2009.

Alan Betts - Still very green but did get a taste of senior football. Appears to have the goods to longer term add to the Daniher dynasty.

Don Carter - Still young, has plenty of ability and if he’s 75% as good as father and uncles he will do Essendon proud.

Graham Flynn - Darcy had limited opportunity, but he really looks the goods. Obviously flexible enough to play forward or back, but looks like a ready-made replacement for Fletch or as a dashing centre half back.

Rod Ansell - Showed some promise but injury ended his season early. Needs to bulk up over preseason and try and establish himself in the team in 2009. Could be a valuable player to the team if he gets his body right.

Mark Elze - Darcy really hasn’t had his chance yet. Very young and should develop further this season as a key defensive player of the future. Has a very good footy brain and is a quick thinker as he showed for Bendigo. Only needs time.

Joseph Attard - Darcy Daniher had a relatively quite year. He didn't play much but showed us what he could give us. Looking forward to seeing more of Darcy Daniher in 2009.

Connor Makropoulos - Darcy played very well in the games that he ran out for. Good future player.

Barry Douce - Didn`t have a real impact but has that Daniher movement about him. Will be ok and as T.D would say, he’ll be right mate.

Daniel Farrugia - Worked hard to get in the side, will be pushing for 10 plus games in 09.

Max Rodwell - I really don't know about young Darcy. When he played we were at a very low ebb, so on the display at the time, hard to judge but it's hard to star when you are getting a flogging. Decision reserved on this one.

Robert Cleland - Darcy had an unlucky season and was not able to display the talents that all Bomber supporters are hoping to see. Hope to see a lot more of him in '09.

Rodney Broadbent - A hard time for Darcy to be blooded but I think he will be a good player as he matures.

Andrew Charlton - Saw him play some really good VFL footy. Hopefully will do the Daniher name proud in the coming seasons.

Jeff Forster - Unfair assessment as he only played because we were short in numbers. But in time he'll be the key defender we will need.

James Brown - Didn’t do anything that impressed me this year playing for Essendon. Very impressive at Bendigo, but couldn’t convert that to AFL. Still have high hopes for the kid, think he could be a star. Hopefully be as important as his old man was for us. Look forward to seeing him next year, with another pre-season under his belt, and a year of experience. Bring on the next generation baby bombers.

Natalie Young - Going to be a very exciting player for Essendon in 2009!! If he is anything like the other Daniher's then you might as well just starting make a spot in the hall of fame now!! Looking forward to see what this youngster can do in the 2009 season!!
