Essendon has recalled three players for its match against North Melbourne on Friday night.
Veteran Dustin Fletcher returns along with young players Kyle Langford and Jason Ashby.
David Zaharakis will miss the game with an ankle injury while James Gwilt and Will Hams have been left out.
Head of Player Development Mark Neeld said Langford showed plenty of promise in his first match against St Kilda.
“One thing he did do was manage to get shots at goal and also get involved with some scoring assists,” Neeld said.
“He’s a really smart young footballer. He sets his teammates up into scoring positions.”
Ashby comes back into the line up for his third appearance of the season.
“Jase will go between the half-back role that he played so well in the NAB Challenge and also perhaps a little higher up the ground,” Neeld said.
“He’s a hard at it player and we want him to get in there and mix it with some of the bigger bodies of the Kangaroos.”
The pre-game will feature an AFL first with a laser show and ‘blackout’ set to create an exciting atmosphere.
“We, as a massive Melbourne based club, love playing on Friday night,” Neeld said.
“We need you (the supporters and members) to get out there and support the boys.”
