There has been a late change in the Essendon team to take on the Saints this Sunday at Etihad Stadium.

Jason Winderlich has pulled out with Ben Howlett coming in. Howlett will also start as the sub.

David Zaharakis and Ariel Steinberg come in for Jake Carlisle and Shaun Edwards. 

Forward Jake Carlisle will miss after injuring his ankle in the dying stages of last week's loss to Hawthorn while Shaun Edwards has been omitted. 

This is Steinberg's first senior game since being elevated off the rookie list last week. His elevation and selection is a testament to his hard work and consistency for Essendon VFL. 

Steinberg played three games for the club last year and proved to be a valuable asset in defence, able to take a strong contested mark and put immense pressure on his opponent.

Zaharakis will return for his first game since injuring his ankle in round six against Fremantle. Zaharakis enjoyed a strong return for Essendon VFL last week where he collected 28-possessions, showing the class and experience that fans have come to expect from the midfielder over the years.

Essendon will take on the Saints for the second time this year on Sunday at Etihad Stadium.
