Essendon Football Club is pleased to announce it has passed the 50,000 member milestone on the eve of the club’s season opener against Sydney on Saturday afternoon.
The club’s recent ‘This Is Our Fabric’ membership campaign celebrates Essendon’s 142 years of history and success that has shaped the proud fabric of the club.
Chief Executive Officer Xavier Campbell thanked Essendon members for their support of the club on the eve of a new season.
“It’s so pleasing to see our fantastic fans getting behind the club as we enter the 2015 AFL season. We have set a target of 65,000 members this year and hitting this current figure at this point in the year means we’re right on track to achieve our bold target.”
“The Essendon family stretches far and wide and it’s imperative that we continue to grow and expand.”
This is the fourth time the club has passed the 50,000 member mark in his history. Previously, in the 2011, 2013 and 2014 seasons.
