Dustin Fletcher, Dyson Heppell and Brendon Goddard will begin their journey for this year’s International Rules series next week.

The Essendon trio will head to New York next Tuesday to participate in a week long training camp under Australian coach Alistair Clarkson.

While in New York, the Australian outfit will also compete in a practice match against the US representative GAA team, before the main event against the Irish in Dublin on the 21st of November.

Selected in his first International Rules series, Dyson Heppell is excited about the chance to line-up alongside players such as Patrick Dangerfield, Nick Riewoldt and Luke Hodge as well as under Hawthorn premiership coach Alistair Clarkson.

“It’ll be awesome,” Heppell told Triple M.

“To play under their guidance (of Riewoldt, Dangerfield and Hodge) and see how they go about it and play under Clarko as well to see his coaching style, I’m looking forward to it.”

Brendon Goddard will make his third appearance in the International Rules side after successful campaigns in 2006 and again last year.

The goals will be in safe hands as 400 gamer Dustin Fletcher returns as goalkeeper for one last time.
