The Bombers’ are off to the Northern Territory again next week.

In what is planned to become an annual trip, the Club’s second to fourth year players will spend time in various communities in the Northern Territory on a pre-season camp.

Essendon’s Game Performance Manager, Mark Neeld, said the trip will provide a great opportunity for the 11 younger players attending.

“We want to make it an ongoing thing, that when you arrive at the club, you have the opportunity to go,” Neeld said.

“There will be community activities, school visits, a trip to a juvenile detention centre and they’ll watch an AFLNT match and interact with kids in the crowd.

“But there will be challenges for the players from a training perspective too. It’s about 35C degrees app there so it’s not going to be easy.

“There will be obstacles the players will face and we want to see if they can overcome them."

The boys will fly out on Tuesday, with the pre-season officially beginning on Monday with a time trial.

The full playing group will return on Monday the 23rd of November.
