Essendon’s list and Recruiting Manager Adrian Dodoro spoke to AFL Trade Radio to provide an update on the Jake Carlisle trade situation.
“We think that Jake is worthy of their first pick,” Dodoro said.
“He’s a quality player; 197 centimetres, he can play forward and back. He’s of All-Australian standard even though he hasn’t got there to this point.
“We certainly think he’s a quality player, we’d certainly like to keep him at our Club.
“We certainly think a fair deal is their first selection.
“We’ve had a couple of discussions with St Kilda, we think that we’re being fair and reasonable. We’re not interested in third party, fourth party deals. We think he’s worth that, it’s clean, it’s straight, and it can get done early.
“When you’ve got people like Leigh Matthews who is pretty measured and respected saying it’s a fair deal, it’s a fair deal.
“I respect the Saints, Ameet (Bains) is terrific to deal with.
“We’ve got time…. you’d be confident we’ll be able to get a resolution.”
