Midfielder Brendon Goddard received the top votes for Essendon in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award after their narrow victory over St Kilda on Sunday.

Goddard was influential against his old side, picking up 28 disposals, which included 10 marks as well as a goal.

Defender Michael Hurley rounded out the vote getters for the Bombers following his 22-possession performance.
