The AFL today confirmed that the Essendon Football Club will be participating in the 2015 NAB Challenge as scheduled.
The AFL will continue to consult with the AFL Players Association and the club on list management issues.
General Manager of Football Operations, Mark Evans said today that the issues facing the club and the players were complex, and the AFL will continue to work as closely as possible with the club.
“We have great sympathy with the players who are facing a difficult time, but we are confident that the club can deliver a good team for the NAB Challenge,” Mr. Evans said.
“We especially want to assure the people of Morwell that the AFL is delighted to be hosting a game in their community on March 7.”
