Joe Daniher's brilliant mark late in the third quarter against North Melbourne has been nominated as one of this week's Mark of the Year contenders.

Daniher launched himself among a host of tall players that had gathered just outside the Essendon goal square.

He soared above the pack to pull down the mark.

Showing the agility of a smaller player, he even managed to keep his feet.

Voters are eligible for a $200 weekly prize while the grand prize of $5,000 will be handed out at the end of the season.
