Star Essendon midfielder Joe Misiti has been cleared of any serious injury following a clash with Carlton's Fraser Brown last Saturday.
It was initally feared that Misiti's jaw had been broken as a result of the incident but x-rays revealed there was no fracture.
And there was further good news with Mark Mercuri's injury not as bad as first thought and he hasn't been ruled out of this Friday night's match against the Western Bulldogs.
Mercuri was thought to have injured his hamstring in last Saturday's match but he now appears to have slightly strained a muscle in his buttock.
But the Misiti news came as the biggest relief with a broken jaw often sidelining players for up to 10 weeks.
Brown was today charged with allegedly striking Misiti. He has also been charged with striking John Barnes and with wrestling.
Misiti and Dean Wallis will face the tribunal on wrestling charges tomorrow night.
The only other injury news to come out of the weekend was a slight knee injury to Michael Prior.
The injury isn't serious and he is expected to play this weekend.
This weekend's game against the Bulldogs looks likely to attract a near capacity crowd.
Late today there was just over 5000 of the 10,000 priority access tickets for Essendon members available.
These tickets are available exclusively to Essendon members until noon tomorrow after which time they will go on sale to the public.
