Essendon Football Club is currently in the process of completing an analysis of its football program.

The analysis aims to develop a deeper understanding of the Club’s football program, including structure, processes, resources and investment across its various divisions.

CEO, Xavier Campbell, said the process would identify key areas of strength and opportunities for improvement, and will likely become an annual process for the organisation moving forward.

“This is about identifying the best ways we can improve our football program” Campbell said.

"We operate in an increasingly competitive landscape and we need to keep challenging ourselves to improve and drive performance outcomes"

“We know we have passionate people at the Club, and we need to continually ensure our football department is functioning in an elite and professional way.”

In addition to reviewing the 2015 season, the process will provide important recommendations for future planning and help guide the football component of the 2016-18 Strategic Plan.

“We need to understand the reasons why our performance has not met our expectations and quickly address any areas that we identify need improvement”

A number of internal and external industry stakeholders will be consulted as part of the process.

“The exercise will include an external focus which will be important in gaining valuable insights to benchmark the Club against our competitors”

It is expected this process will be complete by the end of the home and away season.
