Speaking on 3 Mobile's 'Footy Focus' this week, former Essendon captain Gary O'Donnell left no doubt about his feelings on opposition players hugging and laughing after a game as Brendan Fevola did last weekend.

O'Donnell described it as a ""bad look"" saying it sends a poor message to the remainder of the side.

""What do your team-mates think, what does the crowd think?,"" he said.

""Supporters that have followed the club for 40-50 years want to see your feelings after you lose. I am not sure Brendan was hurting.

""Shake your opponents hand, then say see-ya later and maybe see each other during the week but to go around like that when your team-mates are walking off is a little too much.

""If Sheeds saw me do that after a game, it would have been all over.

""You just shake the hand of the bloke near you and walk off.”

O'Donnell said, in Brendan's defence, these days young players come through the same system and form close friendships.

Speaking last week on Footy Focus, O’Donnell made some controversial comments about players' contract discussions saying it can become a distraction if the team starts losing.
