Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Bombers each week exclusive to essendonfc.com.au.
LAST WEEK
The two most selected Bombers in Fantasy Classic were the best scorers on Saturday afternoon as the Dons went down to the Crows at Etihad.
44,714 coaches enjoyed Brendon Goddard’s 125 from 34 disposals to take his last five average to 112.2 points. Goddard was beaten by Dyson Heppell who bounced back from last week’s 68 with a whopping 128. His 22,481 owners were pleased that he was able to rack up 30 touches, seven marks and seven tackles as he fought hard for four quarters.
I was pleased with Brent Stanton’s 30 disposal game that saw the midfielder finish with 118 points.
Unfortunately the Crows were far too good on the scoreboard and despite plenty of disposals for both teams, they collected 1722 points to Essendon’s 1572.
TOP 5 SCORERS V ADELAIDE
128 – Dyson Heppell (MID, $506,000)
125 – Brendon Goddard (FWD/MID, $538,000)
118 – Brent Stanton (MID, $604,000)
92 – David Zaharakis (FWD/MID, $408,000)
91 – Cale Hooker (DEF/FWD, $470,000)
ON THE RADAR
With the Gold Coast up this week, hopefully the Fantasy points will flow as the Suns have been leaking quite a few points to their opposition.
If you’re looking for a player in each line, there are some Bombers who could be worth brining in to help you win your semi-final this round.
I’ve said it a few times before, but Michael Hibberd is priced nicely to bring into your backline. At $440,000 and with a breakeven of 73, I would advise bringing him in over some of the defenders priced at well over $500K.
In the midfield Dyson Heppell is as cheap as you will get him again this year. His breakeven is 80 and at $506,000 he should be a safe option.
David Zaharakis has a breakeven of 58 and is a worthy forward option that has dual position flexibility. A score of 92 on the weekend saw his price rise by $15K. In round 22 the Dons take on the Tigers where Zaharakis averages 101.8 from his last four games against them.
WHAT’S COMING UP
The Bombers took on the Suns in round 22 last year and eight players scored triple figures.
Goddard (137) and Michael Hurley (131) were the best with 28 and 27 disposals respectively. They also kicked five goals between them.
