Back in 2002, the Essendon website released the revolutionary 'BomberBlitz' video game.

Here's what they had to say back in the day.

The official Essendon website is now home to a great new football video game that lets you sink the boot into opposition clubs.

This brilliant new game gives supporters the chance to sink the boots into opposition clubs while compiling a socre that could win them fantastic prizes.

BomberBlitz is a 'shooting-gallery' type game where the player kicks footballs into rows of opposition players as they run across the screen. Players are awarded points for knocking over individiual players and bonus points can be won for knocking over an entire row.

The game is played over four, 30-second quarters, but there are time bonuses if you can knock over a streaking football who appears periodically throughout the game.

Kevin Sheedy is on hand to give players some advice while the scoreboard attendant doesn't take too kindly to being hit with a football.

We don't know about you, but we're not planning on getting anymore work done today.

You can download and play the BomberBlitz game here.
