In a hard fought contest at Windy Hill on Saturday, it was Richmond that claimed the four premiership points with a six point win over Essendon.

David Myers was the major ball winner, finishing with 34 disposals, four marks and six tackles.

Alex Boyse and Jackson Merrett starred in the forward line, each booting three goals for the Dons.

Richmond had the lead at the first break but goals from Jake Long and Jackson Merrett got the Bombers rolling in the second quarter.

After multiple lead changes, the Bombers had a two point lead at half time.

The Tigers controlled the game in the third term, taking a 12 point advantage into the last change.

In the final quarter two goals from Boyse regained the Dons lead but it wasn’t enough for the fast finishing Tigers.
