Like many of his teammates, Tom Bellchambers’ 2015 season was derailed by injury.
In the first game against Sydney, the Bombers ruckman hurt his knee but courageously played on.
By round 11 his season was over when he suffered a stress fracture in his foot.
Bellchambers has played 79 games since making his debut in 2008.
He enjoyed his best season in 2013 when he played 18 games, averaged 22 hitouts per match and kicked 28 goals.
After rucking solo for much of his 2015 campaign, Bellchambers could have a new ruck partner next season.
Matthew Leuenberger joined the Bombers last month after 108 games with Brisbane.
It will be interesting to see how Coach John Worsfold utilises Bellchambers, Leuenberger and the newly re-signed Shaun McKernan.
Bellchambers and McKernan in particular have shown an ability to go forward and kick goals.
It’s that ability in attack that makes Bellchambers such a dangerous commodity. He’s big, strong, and athletic and possesses a deft touch around the stoppages. In 2016, a fit and firing Bellchambers will give the Bombers a big boost.
