James Hird will find out on Friday whether his appeal against ASADA to the full bench of the Federal Court was successful.
Justice Susan Kenny will deliver the ruling at 2.15pm AEDT at the Federal Court building in Melbourne, representing herself and the two other judges, Justice Tony Besanko and Justice Richard White.
It is not expected the announcement will be televised.
The Essendon coach is appealing Justice John Middleton's ruling that ASADA's investigation into the 2012 supplements scheme was lawful.
The Middleton ruling lead to ASADA re-issuing infraction notices against 34 past and present Bombers, which in turn sparked the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal hearings which are happening behind closed doors.
Since then Hird has become fully immersed in Essendon's pre-season training and planning for 2015.
At a hearing in November, Hird's lawyers argued that ASADA improperly sought to sidestep its lack of legal powers by using the AFL's coercive powers to force Hird and his players to give evidence.
