Former Essendon midfielder Nathan Lovett-Murray has starred alongside his son Nyawi Moore in the latest film clip for Australian hip hop artist Philly featuring Stephen Motlop titled We On.

Lovett-Murray currently resides in his hometown of Heywood where he will line up for his junior club, the Heywood Lions in 2015.

Philly signed with Lovett-Murray’s indigenous music label Payback Records in 2010 and has risen to prominence since.

The former Bomber said it was an honour for him and his younger son to be able to Don the Sash to be a part of the We On video clip.

“My son and I had a great time when we were filming the video especially the part when he was jumping on my back taking marks and also goal kicking he loves celebrating those moments,” Lovett-Murray said.

“Nyawi plays footy in Swan Hill and is going really well but he is also good at basketball and plays in the representative Under 12 team in Swan Hill.”

Lovett-Murray said it was a privilege to once again pull on the famous red sash he wore for 145 games.

“The jumper we used in the video was the Dreamtime jumper that my cousin Thomas Day designed for the team last year,” he said.

“I felt very proud putting the jumper back on especially with my last name still on the back of it.”

Nyawi is a passionate Essendon supporter but according to his dad is still to make up his mind on whether he pursues a football or basketball career.

Lovett-Murray is continuing to enjoy his other passion in life through helping indigenous artists with Payback Records.

“It has been super busy with the record label as we were involved in a national tour with Briggs- Sheplife last year and then we had our own regional tour around Victoria where Philly performed.”

“This year Payback Records is about to release a new album from Philly after all his hard work touring and performing around the country with acts such as Briggs and Yung Warriors.”

“Philly also won the Triple J unearthed Indigenous competition last year and got to perform at the National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin.”

“We released Philly new single last year which is available on Itunes We On ft Steven Motlop (AFL Geelong Cats) and have just released the music video.”
