Essendon Football Club joined Victoria’s Indian community on Easter Monday to celebrate Holi Mela festival at Sandown Racecourse.

Essendon mascot Skeeta and a number of EFC staff joined over 5,000 people at the colourful event.

Originally a Hindu festival, Holi Mela is now celebrated by the entire Indian community with coloured powder being thrown at one another.

Skeeta took to the stage to join forces with Bollywood dancers before a performance from Bollywood singer Mika Singh to the crowd.

The Essendon Football Club inflatable was there for the kids to enjoy with over 150 EFC caps being given away to the locals in attendance.
