Kevin Sheedy has returned fire this afternoon after Fremantle coach Chris Connolly accused Essendon of ""bashing up"" his side at The Dome two weeks ago. ""He's good Chris, he's had Medhurst getting off a kicking charge against Essendon,” Sheedy said. ""Little Farmer was investigated....you can't fool everybody, you can'tfool the umpires and that's really what happened the last time we playedthem.”

""I would have thought we did everything probably to get Medhurst off andnow we're called bashers - he's good, he's the best car salesman I've seencome into footy for a long time. He's got to hold his age up well - I want to have a look at him at 55....he's going to have to do 23 years before he gets that title,” Sheedy said.

Four premiership points were up for grabs the last time the two teams met in Round 21, now the stakes are a lot higher. The winner will progress to the second round of the finals, where as for the loser it will signal an end to its season. It is the first time in its history that Fremantle will play in a finals campaign, where as it is Essendon’s sixth successive finals series. ""It's a huge match for both clubs, it will be exciting,” Sheedy said.

Essendon will take a squad of 25 over to Perth. Players had the option of flying either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning and the majority of the players selected the first option. Sheedy said he will change the side around that lost to Collingwood last Friday night by 16-points. He confirmed that Joe Misiti would travel but would not comment on Mark Mercuri, only saying that Ben Haynes is putting pressure on the dual premiership player.
