Essendon will play its first game of the 2014 pre-season on Monday February 17 against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium under a revamped pre-season competition.

The 2014 NAB Challenge tournament will see 18 matches played consecutively across 18 days around Australia with every club playing two matches in preparation for the season ahead.

The Bombers will then play their second match against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday February 25.

The Bombers have a seven-day break between matches and will then have an extended break before their first home and away match against North Melbourne on March 21.
