Essendon Football Club can confirm Scott Gumbleton has been traded to Fremantle in exchange for pick 55 at the upcoming national draft.

List manager Adrian Dodoro said the trade was a positive result for both clubs.

“At the end of the day Scott expressed his desire to return home to continue his football career and we wanted to make sure he achieved that outcome,” Dodoro said.

“Scott is a fantastic young man and we hope he can continue his injury free run at Fremantle.”

The club wishes to extend its best wishes to Scott and thanks him for his service and dedication during his 7 years at the Bombers.

The club now has picks 26, 55, 66, 102 and 120 in the 2014 national draft.
