Jayden Laverde won’t line-up against West Coast in the Bombers final NAB Challenge match this Sunday.
The 19 year old picked up seven possessions before rolling his ankle against Geelong.
While he won’t line-up for the match in Perth, he’s expected to be fit for the season opener against Gold Coast.
“Jayden was kicking the football and got collected from the side,” High Performance Manager Justin Crow said.
“He landed on his ankle and unfortunately he’s got a sprain of those ligaments in his ankle.
“He won’t be available for selection this week.
“We’d expect him to be ready for round one.”
Darcy Parish and Ryan Crowley are also unlikely to make the trip west.
The Club is taking a cautious approach with the pair after they pulled up sore following the Bombers win over Carlton.
Both players are expected to be available for selection for the match against the Suns on March 26th.
Matthew Leuenberger is edging closer to his first game in the red and black.
The former Brisbane Lions ruckman got through a hit-out with the Bombers VFL squad last week.
“Matthew Leuenberger keeps doing everything right,” Crow said.
“He did the intra-club match practice training with the VFL group last Friday and he’ll be available for selection in either the VFL or the AFL practice matches this week.”
