Jobe Watson has confirmed he will again Don the Sash in 2017.
The Captain and 200 game player hinted at the news last night before confirming his decision this morning.
“I’m just excited to be back and being part of the football world," he said.
“I never contemplated going anywhere else, it was certainly a driving force coming back and playing with these guys.
“I did a lot of training while I was over there (in the US) … I prepared myself to come back to play."
On the Brownlow
“It doesn’t define me … whatever happens is out of my control and I’ll deal with it."
On John Worsfold
“He’s a really inspiring person and someone I really admire.
“At different times I was waning and the middle of this week was the time.
“I feel good and when you’re feeling good in your mind your body acts accordingly."
On the Fans
“I’d like to thank them for their support … I'm really excited about playing for the Essendon Football Club, I've prepared to play at highest level."

On the Club
"Xavier Campbell has done an excellent job in handling this and letting each player come to their decision in their own time."
Brendon Goddard on Jobe Watson
"Over the moon. It's obviously a really personal decision for him to make and, obviously, he had to weigh up a lot. Obviously, the time is right now to announce it," Goddard said on The Footy Show.
"I couldn't be happier. Quality person, individual, footballer, captain, a good friend.
"It's (captaincy) up to him - well, not really up to him, to be honest. It will come down to a vote from the players. He might just want to come back and play footy."
