A new look forward line was on show on the weekend in the team’s first NAB Challenge.

But fans should expect to see a few more fresh faces rotated through the forward half, as the team looks to find the perfect mix before the beginning of the season.

Tall forward Joe Daniher was grateful for the support that he received from fellow talls Sam Grimley and Sam Michael.

The new two recruits will add great depth to the forward line.

“It’s a new look forward line that we’ve got, a new look playing list if you look at the whole group,” said Daniher

“Sam (Michael) was great on the weekend and it shows that we’ve got a lot of flexibility through a lot of different guys down there.

“It was nice to see a few young guys get a crack at it and, hopefully, over the next two weeks we’ll see a lot of guys go through the forward line. “

Now entering his third season at the Bombers, Daniher is set to benefit hugely from the both the older and younger players who have joined the team throughout the off-season.

Daniher had a big role in 2015, stepping up to become Essendon’s key forward target in a year where the team suffered tremendously from a lack of depth in it’s attacking game.

The 21-year-old performed admirably alongside swingman Cale Hooker to top the Club’s goal kicking list for the second consecutive year.

However, now with some additional support, Daniher is optimistic about the forward line’s performance.

As the regular season approaches, he believes fans would have plenty to look forward to during the season, and urged them to come and show their support.

“I think it’s quite exciting,” said Daniher

“I think Essendon fans are going to see plenty of new faces going through the attacking side of our game.

“That’s exciting for fans and for players too and I’m looking forward to playing with different players and some experience from other clubs and some younger guys.”
