Essendon has made an additional change to its list with Michael Hartley informing the club he wishes to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Hartley spent two years on Collingwood’s rookie list before the Bombers drafted him ahead of the 2016 season.
He played 44 games in the red and black during his four years at The Hangar, including the Bombers' elimination final loss to Sydney in 2017 - a season that yielded 18 games for the defender.
General manager of football Dan Richardson thanked Hartley for his contribution to the club.
“We offered Michael a contract, but he indicated to us that he wanted to explore other opportunities,” Richardson said.
“Michael is a highly respected person at the club and his attitude and commitment to the program have been commendable.
“On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Michael and wish him all the best with his future endeavours.”
The club has now made the following changes to its list:
Acquired - Andrew Phillips, Tom Cutler, Ross McQuillan and Cian McBride
Delisted – Ben McNiece, Jordan Houlahan, Trent Mynott, Jake Long, Tom Jok, Zac Clarke, Mitch Brown and Michael Hartley
Retired – David Myers, Matt Dea and Mark Baguley
