A number of Bombers have played their part in raising over $25,000 for Rural Aid at a special annual charity golf event in honour of late club legend Bruce Heymanson.
Heymanson, who was a long-time Essendon committee member and coterie leader, first started ‘Heymo’s Forty Thieves Golf Day’ in 2002 and the latest edition was again a successful one.
Current Dons Dylan Clarke, Marty Gleeson, Darcy Parish and Jake Stringer were joined by former players including Brendon Goddard for the special occasion at Metropolitan Golf Club in Oakleigh.
Several staff including general manager of football Dan Richardson and club doctor Bruce Reid also tried their hand on the course, but it was the players who came out on top (see all results below).
Overall:
First – Dylan Clarke, Darcy Parish, Jake Stringer, Geoff Ross
Second – Tim Reid, Hugh Bayford, Simon Gandy, Craig Mahony
Third – Bruce Reid, Brendon Goddard, Dan Richardson, Marty Gleeson
Other awards:
