Essendon Football Club has today made further changes to its list with Zac Clarke, Trent Mynott, Jake Long and Tuth ‘Tom’ Jok informed they will not be offered contracts for the 2020 season.
After 11 years and 101 games with Fremantle, Clarke arrived at the Bombers at the end of 2018 and played nine senior games in the red and black this season.
Drafted as a father-son selection in the 2015 AFL Rookie Draft, Jake Long made his debut in round 21 in 2016 and went on to feature in a further four AFL games for the Bombers during his time at the club.
Following an unconventional pathway into the AFL system, Jok was drafted to Essendon in the 2018 AFL Rookie Draft. Fulfilling a boyhood dream, Jok made his senior debut at the MCG in the Bombers’ clash with Collingwood in round 23 this year.
Drafted to the club with pick 11 in the 2017 AFL Rookie Draft, Mynott was a consistent performer in his 36 games with the Bombers’ VFL side over 2018 and 2019.
Club general manager of football Dan Richardson thanked the players for their service throughout their time at the Bombers.
“On behalf of the club, I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Zac, Trent, Jake and Tuth for their contribution to the red and black,” Richardson said.
“It is always a difficult time of year saying goodbye to quality people, so we wish all four gentlemen the best for their future endeavours.”
