Essendon has strengthened its VFL squad, securing a further six players ahead of the start of the season.

Daniel Younan headlines the list of recruits.

The former Coburg Vice-Captain has more than 50 VFL games to his name, is a former leading goal kicker at the Lions and won the 2016 Team Spirit Award.

“Daniel has had a great pre-season to date and adds valuable experience and goal kicking ability to our VFL list,” VFL Operations Manager Ashley Brown said.  

“He’s a very smart player and sees the game very well.

"Having these qualities allows him to confidently set up our structures and provide feedback to his team mates in the midfield and forward line.” 

The Dons have also added Western Jets graduate Wilson Berry, a midfielder/half back with speed and a willingness to take the game on.

Rebounding defender Nick Hind, strong bodied midfielder Ben Dobson, Charles Lill and Alex Marklew will all return.

The Bombers begin their VFL season on Saturday April 15 against Sandringham.
