Essendon VFL recorded an 81 point win over the Northern Blues on Saturday at Windy Hill.
The victory moved the Dons into sixth place on the VFL ladder.
There were a number of players that had an impact on the game and will be pushing for senior selection.
Here are the standout performers…
Jayden Laverde
Laverde kicked six goals on the weekend and finished with 19 disposals, seven marks and three tackles.
He has kicked nine goals in his last three games, since returning from an ankle injury.
Brent Stanton
Stanton dominated in the midfield. He was the major ball winner, finishing with 36 disposals, 10 marks and five tackles.
He booted two goals on the day, one of which saw the veteran dodge around three Blues players and snap it straight through the middle.
Stanton has averaged 22 disposals, six marks and three tackles this season.
Kyle Langford
Langford was impressive on Saturday against the Northern Blues.
He kicked four majors and collected 26 disposals, seven marks and laid five tackles.
The midfielder has averaged 25 disposals, seven tackles and six marks in the VFL this year.
Langford has played in six AFL games this season and will remain a top contender for another call-up.
Jake Long
Long produced a promising performance on the weekend, finishing with 25 disposals and four marks.
He has played 11 games this season in the VFL side and averaged 15 disposals, four marks and two tackles per game.
Matt Dea
Dea was exciting to watch, he finished with 19 disposals, took nine marks and laid three tackles.
He was great in defence stopping multiple Blues players inside 50.
The defender ran forward in the final quarter to boot a goal for the Bombers.
Matthew Leuenberger
Leuenberger won 40 hit outs on Saturday.
The ruckman finished with 17 disposals, four marks and laid four tackles.
Leuenberger kicked one goal from a set shot, 30m out.
From the VFL…
Nick O’Brien
O’Brien finished with 16 disposals, two marks and two tackles.
Like Dea, the skipper also ventured forward to kick a goal.
O’Brien has averaged 31 disposals, six marks and three tackles this season.
Nick Hind
Hind produced another eye-catching display with his pace and line-breaking a regular feature.
The dasher has been a consistent performer this season, culminating in his selection in the initial state squad.
