Esssendon VFL has claimed a 54 point victory over North Ballarat at Eureka Stadium. The win moves the Dons into seventh place on the ladder.

Nick O’Brien was the major ball winner of the day, he finished with 33 disposals, six marks and three tackles.

Jayden Laverde and Jackson Merrett both kicked three goals each for the Dons.

It was a tough start to the game, with the Roosters taking an eight point lead at quarter time.

The Bombers stepped it up in the final five minutes of the first half, kicking two consecutive goals to go into the major break with a six point lead.

Essendon started the third quarter well, kicking six goals to North Ballarat’s two. From there the Dons were able to control the remainder of the game and come away with a 54 point win.
